  • We’re really enjoying 100% Electronica’s role as broker of which vaporwave albums are deserving of the vinyl format, in addition to sniffing out the most interesting pop music, they don’t miss. This 2019 self-released offering from scene vet Windows 96 aka Brazil's Gabriel Eduardo is the latest artifact to cross over to the physical realm. Gabriel’s lighthearted approach leaves most of vaporwave’s original touchstones intact - lo-fi textures, neon synths and jazz schmaltz, with tight snares and rubbery synth bass cutting straight though the mix (not 100% sure but it sounds like it’s been made completely sample-free). Fleeting synth leads and the occasional obscured vocal are left to flounder in the lo-fi quicksand. Tracks to check: “Venus Aire,” “Wasting Time,” “Deep Swim” and “Hazy Trip.” Limited edition.

    • semi-translucent blue colored vinyl
    • limited edition
    • original release year: 2019
    • music label: 100% Electronica 2025
