Fully automatic turntables feature start + stop buttons that control the turntable motor and move the tonearm on and off the record. Automatic turntables also turn the motor off and return the tonearm after a side reaches the end. Semi-automatic turntables only feature the off + return feature. Automatic models are excellent for casual, hands-off listening.
