Originally released in 1983 on a small run cassette, this obscure ambient masterpiece was crafted by unsung genius Hiroshi Yoshimura to soundtrack a Seibu department store exhibition showcasing overseas (i.e. New York) fashion. Yoshimura's work always has a calming quality, something you might not expect for a fashion show. The synth work here is remarkably spacious and entrancing, relying on soft melodies and patient repetition to soothe the listener's ears. It is this special quality that make Yoshimura's work incredibly sought after for lovers of ambient and minimal music. Fans of Midori Takada, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Brian Eno, Gigi Masin, etc. should definitely check. Recommended!
