Singles such as 'Mi Jeva' (featured in feature film Celeste and Jesse Forever) 'No No No' (a classic reimagining of the blues/reggae classic) and straight-latin-Boogaloo-meets-the-Beach-Boys romp 'Do You Wanna Dance' are 3 of the disc's highlights. Old Love Dies Hard went to analog tape at Killion Sound, one of Los Angeles's funkiest studios, and the results came out swinging. The racous high-energy party that is a Boogaloo Assassins show is on full display, as are the differing vocal styles of all three lead singers: Charles Farrar, Chiquis Lozoya and Robert Mc Lachlan. The rhythm section of William Purdy (pno), Billy Goodtimes (timbales), Richi Panta (conga), Sergio Padilla (bongo) and Rich Rochelle (bass) and horn section Joe Bautista (sax) and Tommy Ouweleen (sax/flute) cook throughout the session, a result of their six years of steady-gigging as a live band in Southern California." - Nu-Tone Recordings
