Originally released in 2006, Ashes Against The Grain followed the critically acclaimed The Mantle and found the Portland-based band with a rawer, more stripped down sound. The sonic transition came after Agalloch began touring for The Mantle and realized that a stripped down approach would translate better for live performances, yet the group manages to retain the doom-folk aesthetic they are known for. This 2016 reissue comes on double vinyl with remastered sound, full color 8 page booklet, and custom etched D-side.
