  • Bobby Browser (aka Andre Ferreira) has been moving around the San Francisco electronic scene for some time. He's put in time with the ostensibly goofy Party Effects, who may have been a bit too "electro." However his collaboration with Greg Z (formerly of Eatstapes), Wav Dwgs, has been making some of the best deep house this side of the pond. On his own Mr. Ferreira puts his ever evolving collection of vintage gear to work. His tracks have a throwback feel but are imbued with a certain immediacy. There's a laid back feel to "Smooth Cruise" that gets fed by the acid line that sneaks its way into the second half of the track. His arrangements have a welcomed looseness to them which helps to breath new life into the house format. "Airbody" may be indebted to Kevin Saunderson but Browser's open structure makes the sound feel new. With 100% Silk's breakout success in the past year it's refreshing to see them turn to new talent. Recommended.
