Sure many try to emulate and imitate his style, but there is nothing quite like the real thing. 2012's The Kindred EP is finds UK producer on Hyperdub once again, living up to his reputation with three beautifully produced tracks that raise the bar for dubstep/bass music. Check the rumbing 2step drums and dense atmosphere of the title track "Kindred" for a sampling of the brilliance. "Loner" comes next and continues the magic with more of a shuffling, 4x4 rhythm and hypnotic drone loops aplenty. Finally "Ashtray Wasp" closes it out on an ethereal vibe beyond the clouds. Three for three on this one, how does he do it? 2017 repress in Hyperdub label sleeve, recommended.
