  • David Bowie channeling The Stones! Back in 1973 Bowie had cemented his reputation as a superstar. He was touring with The Spiders from Mars and writing his follow up to the immensely successful Ziggy Stardust while on the road. He told NME that with "The Jean Genie" he "wanted to get the same sound the Stones had on their very first album on the harmonica." The result was timeless, blues heavy and slightly askew from the glam rock Bowie had cultivated with Ziggy Stardust. Included on the b-side is the recently recovered BBC Top Of The Pops performance of "The Jean Genie" from January 1973. Both cuts have been faithfully remastered by original Trident engineer Ray Staff. Limited edition 7" picture disc.
