  • DIPLODOCUS WAS A DINOSAUR.  Originally released this past summer as digital only, Mad Decent has decided to treat the vinyl lovers to all of Diplo’s recent hits as well. This is not an “album” exactly, but more of an all-encompassing journey through Diplo’s worldly successes. We get all his big time, molly-friendly festival hits like “Boy Oh Boy” and “Freak” and songs like “Revolution” that show off his knack for edgy but accessible songs that got him producing for the likes of Britney Spears and Justin Bieber. Where he really shines for me is venture into the humid world of NOLA Bounce. “Biggie Bounce” is an infectious beat with some classic Bounce call-and-response lines. The album finishes up with a Bounce classic featuring the late, great NOLA legend Nicky Da B. This song helped push the Bounce culture into a more mainstream realm and the ripple effects are still being felt. The album comes on a beautiful picture disc and features some cheeky Twitter graphics on the sleeve.
