  • “This is live dance music, and we try to make stuff we can share to a live experience – which is something that people don’t really think about much anymore, but we do.” says Eugene Cho, founder and co-producer of NYC Disco ensemble Escort. Escort began as a duo of Cho and Dan Balis, who "wanted to make records in the spirit of the old ones we were sampling." The lineup has changed a bit over the years, with the departure of Balis and arrival of JKriv, but the group has maintained their commitment to sonic authenticity to the disco era, interpolating the best of Chic, Donna Summer's collabs with Giorgio Moroder, and a solid dose of 103.5 KTU. "City Life" is a preview of their forthcoming LP of the same name, and features new singer Nicki B, in addition to guest appearances from R&B club icon Fonda Rae and Gil Scott Heron collaborator Brian Jackson. Includes 7" only B-Side "Fantasy" on the flip. This jukebox style 7" is pressed on black vinyl.
