There's no doubt that Frankie Knuckles will be greatly missed. The larger than life DJ was an integral part of the rise of dance music over the past few decades. His early days DJing at The Continental Baths and The Gallery along side Larry Levan led to his eventual residency at the Warehouse in Chicago where he would define what house music was. After the Warehouse closed he opened his own club, The Power Plant. From there started producing his own tracks and remixes. Beyond The Mix is Knuckles' first artist album and features the house classic, "Whistle Song." His New York roots are evident in soulful tracks like "Rain Falls," "It's Hard Sometime" and the slow burning "Sold On Love." Classic material from one of house music's founding fathers.
