Blessed Black Wings is the 3rd studio album from Oakland band High on Fire, originally released in 2005. It builds on 2002's Surrounded By Thieves with an all-out aural assault: high-intensity drumming, heavy riffs, and unrelenting sludge blasts to the neck & face. Steve Albini assists on production, while Pike's gnarly vocals add even darker layers to the incessant doom brought on by the instrumentals. A no brainer for stoner metal fans, and dude, how sick is the album art? Check out "Blessed Black Wings," "Devilution," "Brother In the Wind," and "Sons of Thunder."
