How do these guys find this stuff? In yet another incredible find, Music From Memory brings the primitive electronic experimentation of Joel Graham to vinyl for the first time. The San Francisco-based artist self-released two cassettes of material in 1984 and 1985, foreshadowing current trends in electronic dance music by about two or three decades using nothing but pre-MIDI analog equipment. Quite a feat, as the hypnotic rhythms and mesmerizing synths certainly have a timeless quality about them - no doubt in part due to their slowly unraveling, freeform nature and visionary aesthetic. Includes "Geomancy" and "Night." Get in the zone!
