"In July 1965 the John Coltrane Quartet were booked to appear at the 6th International Jazz Festival, Juan- Les-Pins, Antibes, France, it was to be their final visit to Europe. On their first night, Monday July 26, they performed the complete A Love Supreme suit with the original line-up: John Coltrane (tenor sax), McCoy Tyner (piano), Jimmy Garrison (bass) and Elvin Jones (drums). The performance was recorded by French TV but sadly only 12-minutes has survived. Fortunately, the Charly archivists have retrieved and restored the entire live concert, the ONLY performance by the original musicians. Available for the first time on double-vinyl and presented in a 5mm spine sleeve with a replica concert poster, this really is a 'supreme' special edition." - Charly
