  • Jonti is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, and vocalist making his splendid debut on Stones Throw. The album is influenced by the Australia-based artist's favorites: Madlib, Stereolab, Free Design and The Beach Boys (a sweet combination!). Cartoonist / filmmaker Norma Mclaren was also a huge inspiration, as Jonti explains "his films are complex, but they're still fun. You can feel his enthusiasm for techniques and experimentation." Tracks like "Firework Spraying Moon," "Twirligig," "Snickers Hiss," "Spooky Sport," "Solar Smoking Dogs," and "Hornets Nest" are based on the aforementioned "complex-but-fun" paradigm, making the album very accessible, but with plenty of intricate textures and layers for listeners to explore. Cool psychedelic patterns on the cover too. Recommended.
