Deep, gliding house and ambient textures from the duo that launched Weimar's Giegling imprint. Insecurity Guard follows up Kettenkarussell's 2014 full length Easy Listening with six tracks that fuse together the disparate moods their music drifts between. While the previous album was made up of tracks that moved from floor filling house to heavy ambient passages, Insecurity Guard mixes it all together. Natural tones are set to driving beats, creating richly textured music that you almost want to call electro-acoustic house. Every element seems to have found its place, whether its the warbling melody that sneaks into "Brueder" (sounding more than a little like Boards Of Canada) or the seemingly lost staccato notes that round out the sublime "New York Blues." Warmth is all around this record, the duo's preference for soft tones about as welcoming a sound as you could wish for. It's loose and unhurried music that seems to defy categorization as much as it, most likely, doesn't care for it. Six tracks in all. Released by Giegling on double vinyl housed in a full color sleeve. Recommended.
