  • Jamaican heat! Of all of the producers and engineers that cut their teeth at King Tubby's legendary Kingston Studio, Prince Jammy is the most likely heir to the throne. The two had worked together before Jammy took a job offer that took him to Canada for five years. Homesick for Jamaica and with the offer of full time work from Tubby led Jammy to return to Tubby's studio. He was trusted with running the sessions while Tubby worked on his prospering electronics business. This allowed Jammy to hone his skills behind the boards and develop his own style. This would eventually lead to Jammy building his own studio close to Tubby's. But before that Jammy cut tunes at Tubby's. Dub Kings (King Jammy at King Tubby's) collects some of the best dubs from these sessions. Check out "Wreaking Dub," "Stormy Weather Dub," the "I'll Take You There" covering "Liquidation Dub" and Jammy's version of Bob Marley's "Kaya" on "Herb Dub." Classic dub material.
