It's funny how Lil Boat's become the litmus test for one's taste for hip-hop these days, as people's conversations concerning the past, present, and future of the genre will often start with the question: you fu*k with Yachty? "Dad rap" fans will almost always cringe in disgust, and the younger generation that grew up on Souja Boy, Kid Cudi or 808s & Heartbreaks will dismiss the reaction as the person just being old af, then rep for the Atlanta, Quality Control Music artist to fullest. Regardless of which camp you fall in, the impact the "I'm not a rapper" rapper has had and will have is undeniable. Go on Youtube and check out some footages of the young gun in concert, you'll quickly realize the Nautica / Sprite god has arrived and will thrive for some time to come, whether you like it or not. It's lit, and it's definitely time to bump "Wanna Be Us," Minnesota (Quavo, Thug, and Skippa kill their verses)," "One Night" and more on vinyl. S/o to Burberry Perry, too.
