After dropping numerous critically acclaimed mixtapes, Logic released No Pressure in 2014. Most of the production was handled by No I.D., and Young Sinatra's fellow "RattPack" member 6ix also helped oversee the project. Simply put, the Maryland-bred MC can rap. His less-than-perfect upbringing (he's famously mentioned that he's capable of cooking crack) is a fertile ground for him to draw material from, and he speaks the language that cuts through and reaches his mighty healthy fanbase in a very real way: "Maybe if I go platinum they'll remember me then / But, I'm not defined by the sales of my first week / Cause in my mind the only way I fail; if my verse weak." The beats lean toward the soulful, and they always leave plenty of room for rapid-fire bars, This album is also an early proof of Logic's ability to bring together the older, classic years of hip-hop with with the younger stylistic turn the genre's taken as of late. Under Pressure plays like a storybook, so definitely enjoy from beginning to end through your headphones.
