Masters At Work have been synonymous with deep house since the genre first emerged in the mid 90s. The duo of Louie Vega and Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez built their reputation through genre-eschewing DJ sets and flawless house production, crafting a legacy that spans decades and seen hundreds of releases and remixes. The MAW influence can be felt throughout much of the house music that is coming out today. Their characteristic smooth but still underground sound seems to get copied with every other house 12" that comes out. House Masters compiles some of their most classic, genre defining releases. There's a diversity of styles on display, from the voguing classic "The Ha Dance (Ken:Lou Mixx)" to Saint Etienne's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Masters At Work Dub)." Checkout Nuyorican Soul "The Nervous Track (Ballsy Mix)," Voices "Voices In My Mind (MAW Mix)," and D'Influence "Hypnotize (M.A.W Piano Dub Mix)" for a further taste of what the duo is capable of.
