Mayer Hawthorne is back! Man About Town is a return to form of sorts for the Ann Arbor soul singer. The album is his fourth solo LP, following 2013's Where Does This Door Go and collaborations with Jake One (Tuxedo) and 14KT (Jaded Incorporated), and finds MH back at the helm handling all the production, instruments, and of course, vocal duties. This is similar to the way he made his first two albums, except now Hawthorne has a wealth of knowledge and experience from having several albums under his belt, and having collaborated with several accomplished musicians like Pharrell, Jack Splash, and Greg Wells on his last album. The result is a bit more polished, but still very soulful, with roots in the greats like Curtis, Isaac, Leroy, Barry, and Smokey, and hints of 80's blue-eyed soul/AOR influence. 10 tracks in all with full color 12 page booklet.
