Lab Overview

Have you peeped the features on Mura Masa's self-titled debut album? Before Alex Crossan (MM's government) became the of-the-moment producer that he is today, though, he was a teenager living on the small island of Guernsey. His real world was the internet, however, and he began uploading original productions, remixes, and bootlegs to Soundcloud at the age of 16. Soundtrack To A Death, a mixtape released on SC in 2014, is the project that put his career on the global success trajectory, and despite not having a stellar guestlist or the major-label gloss a la Mura Masa, the tracks on the project offer a raw and clear look into the young heat maker's genius. As is the case with some his more recent, better known work, Crossan seamlessly blends not-so-mainstream electronic, hip-hop, and club elements and filters them through a breezy pop lens on Soundtrack To A Death, and if you're a fan of songs on Mura Masa, you'll certainly enjoy the 14 instrumentals on here.
