“Good music is good music,” says DJ Neil Armstrong. The long-time Lab homie’s mixtapes are CERTIFIED like Dipset (he’s been dropping ‘em since they were actually on tapes), and the latest from the NY DJ is part 2 of a classic he dropped more than 10 years ago, ExtraOrdinary. Steering away from the mash-up trend that was the norm at the time, Neil weaved together tracks from The Doors, Nirvana, 10,000 Maniacs, Laura Branigan, and more in their original form. He kept the hip-hop aesthetic intact, however, quickly going through songs and having them flow from one to another seamlessly. Part 2 carries on the tradition, and good music from John Lennon, Weezer, The Boomtown Rats, Eagles, Blondie, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Paul Simon, and etc. fill up the 48-track (!!!!!!) mix, which is presented on a USB cassette, Neil’s nod to the past & future.
- USB Cassette features files in WAV format as well as one long MP3
