  • Third studio album from Denton, Texas' Neon Indian. VEGA INTL. Night School is the first release from Brooklyn based Alan Palomo to combine his alter egos, Neon Indian and VEGA. While he helped usher in the chillwave sound at the turn of the decade with Neon Indian, his work as VEGA leaned more towards pop, house, and disco. Here we get the love child of these two sides of Palomo, all infused with a subtle sense of humor. This is probably the most late night he's gotten, giving us lucid dance grooves and steamy disco funk to go the distance. He's at his best when he reaches those hard to find falsetto notes on tracks like "The Glitzy Hive." And Palomo's penchant for hook-filled synth melodies just makes the tracks all that much better. Sure there is a lot going on throughout the album, but it never feels overstuffed. Just the right amount of the right stuff at the right time. Includes the songs: "Annie," "Slumlord," and the Matthew Dear-referencing "Techno Clique." Fourteen tracks in all.

    • 'blue dream splash' colored double vinyl pressing
    • plays at 45 RPM
    • housed in gatefold sleeve w/ printed insert
    • limited edition
    • original release year: 2015
    • music label: Mom + Pop 2025
