Harvested via the algorithm and compiled from the deepest co-op of record enthusiasts. Where to begin? This collection of left-field, experimental-synth laden tracks is, in short, amazingly absurd. With "a hero's quest worth" of all-in-one Casios, arpeggiated synths, off-brand drum machines and four track recorders, the artists compiled here by Numero Group are in a way exploring what the future might sound like. From the airy-synth boogie vibes of the first cut, "Wind Fall," you're in for a next-level chill sesh. Other highlights include: Tony Palkovic's "Breath of Sound"; Frank Youngwerth's Morricone-inspired "Whirr (Motorway)"; the GOAT Don Slepian's arpeggiator-laced "Glimmerings"; the timeless "Sunrise" by Vernal Equinox; and Jim Farmer's "Emperor's Clothes," which sounds straight out of a video game (you can see where the inspiration for the jacket comes into play). Caught somewhere between dance and new age, these 11 tracks showcase the longevity and depth of what at first glance may be seen as "cheesy". It ain't cheesy, it's synth-sleazy. While the content is worth the price of admission alone, the packaging is something else. Housed in a 12" x 12" NES-styled jacket, replete with a custom die-cut and debossed cartridge inner sleeve, this release is not to be slept on! Released by Numero Group.
