After nearly a decade in the game Omar-S drops his 4th full length on us! Usually, when a house producer drops an album, you expect something with some sort of arc and requisite chill out moments. That's not always the case with Omar-S. Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself keeps the tempo up for the majority of the album. It's as if Omar-S is letting you know what you are going to get with the title. After all, he's been absolutely killing for the past few years with the singles he's dropped on his FXHE imprint. For the most part we just want more and he's happy to deliver. His usually mournful melodies are all over the album along with some murky, dub infused moments. Part 1 of this 2 part release features the essential, Luke Hess mixed "I Just Want." Which if you're thinking about anything you should be copping right now! There's the trilogy of "Be Yoself," "Rewind," and "The Shit Baby" which is followed up with the Berghain techno of "Hellter Shelter" amongst others. All well worth the price of admission.
