Excellent compilation of Psychedelic Peruvian cumbia and chicha from the vaults of the legendary Infopesa label. Cumbias Chichadélicas - Peruvian Psychedelic Chicha serves as the perfect introduction to Alberto Maraví's boundary pushing label. Maraví recorded and produced many of the bands featured here, including Los Mirlos, Los Orientales de Paramonga, Juaneco y Su Combo, and Los Pakines. His productions incorporated reverb drenched guitars and delay effects along with more traditional instrumentation. Original pressings are extremely hard to come by, so we've got to thank Pharaway Sounds for putting this collection together. The majority of the tracks are instrumentals with their sights set solely on the dance floor. Cumbias Chichadélicas is an eye opening compilation of Peruvian music from the late 60s through the early 80s. Sixteen tracks in all. Released by Pharaway Sounds on double vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve.
