Damn, I can't believe it's been 10 years since DJ Platurn hit us with his first So This Is De La Heaven mix. That first installment was a masterwork that cemented Platurn's status as the ultimate De La Soul fan while showcasing his impeccable skills. 10 years on and the dude has dug deeper, and somehow made an even better mix for part 2. I mean, he has seriously done his work here. Sample sources, your favorite De La songs, and picks you probably have never heard, all skillfully blended together for your listening pleasure. Platurn is one of those DJs that has kept the fire burning for all you cats that came up when hip hop was hip hop and being a DJ actually meant something. He's got a handle on the craft and art of DJing, and a digger's wealth knowledge. So This Is De La Heaven Pt. 2 has everyone from Michael Rapaport to the almighty Plug Three himself Maseo big upping Platurn! A definite must for anyone who has even a shred of respect for themselves. Recommended.
