  • Funk for days. That's what's happenin' on the long overdue debut full length from Psychic Mirrors. On Nature Of Evil, the Miami six piece lead by Mickey de Grand IV are coming correct with more of that funky stuff you love. The album is a culmination of the "modern carribean sound" (an "amalgam of boogie funk, yacht rock and wavy synth jazz") the band has been cultivating since their formation in 2010 with 12 tracks of potent boogie infused grooves you probably wouldn't suspect if you just looked at the cover. Speaking of the cover, the band decided to go all in with the B-movie theme, presenting the album as the soundtrack for a pseudo musical - "like Grease but with synthesizers, and instead of a boy-girl narrative, the themes are more omnisexual." Limited edition vinyl pressing, recommended.
