Tomorrow's Achievements takes an in depth look at the Canadian Library institution, Parry Music. Public Information was given full access to music library by founder John Parry. They put together this compilation of twenty five blissful electronic tunes. Parry Music was founded in Toronto in 1974 by former manager of revered UK library Chappell Music, John Parry and Canadian music consultant Chris Stone. They brought together musicians from their previous experience; Johnny Hawksworth, Robin Artus, Paul Kass, Nino Nardini (close allies with Roger Roger) are on board Tomorrow's Achievements. Along with the more known musicians was the lesser known Harry Forbes. Forbes' memorable and saccharine melodies are drowned in a sense of melancholy and wrapped in synthetic sound. In the world of library music it almost seems as if the composers and musicians were composing for no one but themselves. With access to studios and equipment that many can only dream of they are charged with the task of making the soundtrack to a TV show that may never surface. Aside from dark ambient drones we are treated to proto-disco, Balearic explorations, and freaked out modular synth work outs. The tracks that make up Tomorrow's Achievements open up a world that was previously unknown to the rest of us.
