Back in 2000 Rancid had become about as big as they ever would. The three albums that they closed out the millennium with had brought them wide spread acclaim and recognition. However, the band had been criticized for what was perceived as their relying unduly on gestures lifted from the Clash. Rancid (also known as Rancid 5 or Rancid 2000) was their response. Gone are the ska and reggae oriented songs of Life Won't Wait along with any of their rockabilly influenced tunes. In their place are 22 tracks of some of the harshest and fastest material the band ever released. The whole thing is over in a mere 38 minutes! If you're looking for another "Time Bomb" or "Ruby Soho" this is not the place for you. However, if all you need is a half-hour of undiluted adrenaline, you've come to the right place. Checkout "Rwanda," "Corruption" and "Blackhawk Down" for a taste of what Rancid is all about. Limited edition red vinyl repress.
