Sasami's key inspirations behind her solo debut: "isolation & independence," "her brother Joo Joo," and "the guitar." While touring as a member of Cherry Glazerr, she found time to write in between shows at different cities, and being out of her comfort zones—home, studio—allowed for very "in-the-moment" song craft. Her youngest brother, who plays in Froth, relayed his obsession of analog gear and guitar pedals, tones, and amps to Sasami, and lastly, the guitar itself played a major role in the writing process—"I think of this album as a guitar étude. I wrote all the guitar parts…" What comes forth is a journal-like look into Sasami's world, as the singer-songwriter shares emotional accounts of her relationships w/ others as well as herself over sounds inspired by shoegaze/dream pop. Check out "Free," "Not the Time," "I Was a Window," and "Pacify My Heart."
