The there must be something in Norway's water. Snorre Magnar Solberg is another label head and producer that the Scandinavian country has gifted to the world and we could not be more thankful. His Club No-No imprint has already put out some mind bending house records and No-No 4 continues the trend. Having already worked with the likes of DJ Sotofett and SVN, Solberg enlists the talents of Kristoffer Drevdal and DJ Fett Burger for this release. Experimental and dark is the order of the day with a slightly swampy bent that exudes a sense of warmth throughout the record. Bird calls float around while kicks thump away, as if we're in some alternate universe tribute to 808 State. The A side stays atmospheric, it's eerie pad floating loosely along, while the B side offers up unexpected twists and turns. Breaks come in nearly halfway through, chords come out of nowhere and the track closes with rain and thunder to complete the trifecta. Another creative and enticing release from the icy north. Recommended.
