Stars Of The Lid And Their Refinement Of The Decline was originally released in 2007 and found the duo moving into a world of subtleties where even the smallest amount of sound could make an immense statement. The duo makes great use of acoustic instruments, rarely touching the electric guitars that had been apart of their sound until this moment. Strings surge, pianos hit sustained chords and cellos drone on, everything done with the utmost care and attention to detail. It's deceptively simple music that is open to whatever emotional cast you want to imbue it with. Nineteen tracks in all. Released by Kranky on triple vinyl housed in a full color sleeve with printed inner sleeves.
