20th release from the always on point Music From Memory! Rainworks follows 2016's compilation of archival recordings from Spain's Suso Saiz, Odisea. Where that release focused on older material from the accomplished electronic musician, this latest release is composed of completely new material. Originally conceived as part of a commission from a Canary Islands water company, Rainworks takes its inspiration from a documentary Saiz had seen that suggested water molecules have their own memory; that water is an eternal being, changing its physical state as it travels between the earth and the sky. Saiz worked with his son Emil and pianist Raph Killhertz to create a piece that channeled this metaphysical process into a transportive musical experience. They mixed electronic and acoustic elements, layering resonant piano and guitars to take the listener on a journey through different states of being. Six tracks in all. Released by Music From Memory on double vinyl.
