  • I WANNA DIE JUST LIKE JESUS CHRIST. The title of The Jesus & Mary Chain's fourth studio album refers to the band’s 1985 breakthrough single “Just Like Honey” (re-purposed for a whole new generation in Lost In Translation) and is meant to demonstrate a full departure from the band’s early sound. William & Jim Reid take a few cues from former drummer Bobby Gillespie and his band Primal Scream, with Screamadelica-branded jangly riffs and hypnotic shuffle immediately evident on opener “Reverence” and continuing through the album’s 12 tracks. Honey’s Dead is the sound of the Reid brothers becoming more like a normal rock & roll band but still holding their druggy pedigree and controversial antics intact. Fans of The Stone Roses’ tripped-out hooligan rave, this is the J&MC album for you. Limited edition pressing on honey-colored vinyl.
