George Clinton & his legendary group covers The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." In the past, GC has said that recording an album consisting entirely of covers of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band would prove that the Parliaments "could be funk and pop at the same time." With Eddie Hazel on guitar, the pop tune is, completely reinterpreted w/ heavy-groove rhythms, chunky bass work, and a wicked dose of funk. Two takes, both recorded in 1967, included on here, each with its own funky flavor. We're definitely looking forward to The Parliaments' upcoming album, New Day Begins.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band would prove that the Parliaments "could be funk and pop at the same time."
