  • Two solid gold classic instrumentals from Lee Perry aka The Upsetter, originally released in 1969 during peak rocksteady. There’s so much incredible Scratch music that we don’t often go back this far, but listening back to these tunes nails down that which we already knew, that Perry could really dominate any style or sound he tried. Both are low-slung grooves with huge basslines, big horns and inventive keyboard leads; it’s easy to see why these were both huge anthems in dancehalls from JA to UK. Recommended.

    • black 7" vinyl pressing
    • plays at 45rpm
    • music label: Get On Down 2018
