  • James Brooown, Jaaames Broooowwwwn! Tom Tom Club's classic debut repressed on lovely translucent green vinyl. Founded by Talking Heads members Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz (who also happened to be a husband-and-wife team),  Tom Tom Club would create a distinct sound that brought together funk, new wave, reggae, post-punk, and dub with an infectious appeal. This is their 1981 breakout debut and arguably their best album (at least IMO) containing numerous jams including the timeless "Genius Of Love" that has been covered and sampled by countless artists, but no one can hold a torch to the O. G. (sorry Mariah). Also includes the funky disco rap of "Wordy Rappinghood," the percussive tropical groove of "Tom Tom Theme," the left field synthpop vibe of "Lorelei," "On, On, On, On...." and more. Eclectic, funky, and fun. 8 tracks in all, recommended.

    • limited edition of 700
    • blue & yellow starburst colored vinyl pressing
