  • Real house music! Delroy Edwards aka Hellboy Jr. links with his brother from another Nicky Benedek once again for this 4-track EP - no funny business, no cutesy tongue in cheek shit, just 100% real house music worship going on here. Their last collab (that we know of) under the name Rx was a tape hiss-soaked foray into blunted boogie on PPU all the way back in 2014; this one lands on L.I.E.S., proving one of the last decade’s most exciting labels is fully capable of finding new ways to keep it interesting. Benedek’s magic fingaz filtered through Delroy’s inimitable hazy atmosphere, with two of the most enviable synth collections in Los Angeles joining forces make for another total banger. The A1 title cut tells you everything you need to know with its MIDI slap bassline and ultra deep pads, but check the technique on “Check The Technique” for some real sophisticated house music finesse. Can’t wait to serve “What About House” to an unsuspecting dancefloor, good god. 4 tracks altogether, comes in black generic sleeve with poly inner, recommended.

    • black vinyl pressing
    • music label: Long Island Electrical Systems 2019
