  • The official soundtrack of the distraught aughts. When I was a freshman in college Garden State was a really big deal. The soundtrack though, that was an even bigger deal. There was a kid in my dorm that seemed a bit sheltered growing up. Whenever a group of us were talking about music he would always interject with his favorites like The Shins or Iron And Wine. It wasn’t long before he was appropriately dubbed “Garden State”. This soundtrack has almost outlasted the movie because it is such a specific moment in time. Also pulling on your heart strings and stirring emotions, the song selection became so well know because of how well it fit the with each specific scene. Other tracks from Thievery Corporation, Nick Drake and even a classic from Simon & Garfunkel helped set the mood so well that we are still here talking about it in 2014. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Garden State’s release, the soundtrack is now on vinyl for the very first time and pressed on 180g wax with printed inner sleeves.
