Yo La Tengo distills their music to the raw essence here, doing everything themselves in the rehearsal studio - no rehearsing, no engineer, no complicated gear - just pure feeling and emotion (and a little help from John McEntire on post mixing). The resulting songs came together in long stretches, with sometimes over a year between parts, but all very much worth it in the end. Includes the alluring "Shades Of Blue," "She May, She Might," the late night vibes of "Let’s Do It Wrong" and more.
