Debut album from Japanese / New York Hip Hop duo! Miho and Yuka of Cibo Matto splashed onto the scene during one of the last great periods in NY (yeah we are still waiting for something cool to happen again). They were first known as those Japanese chicks with that funny chicken song, but soon had grown a cult following. Their hip hop meets riot grrrrl approach is still beyond your grasp of what cool is, sort of like the Beastie Boys, and their songwriting was more tongue in cheek and underneath the novelty laid some of the best music from the 90s. Yes, it was fun but by no means cheesy. Includes the dubby single "Sugar Water" and of course "Birthday Cake" and "Know Your Chicken" along with every other sing along classic. 180g vinyl, recommended.
- 180g black vinyl pressing
- includes printed insert
- original release year: 1996
- music label: Music On Vinyl 2021
