Yet another incredible musical discovery from the good folks at Music From Memory. At this point MFM has become a "buy-on-sight" label for the musica nerdus (this reviewer included) and those that crave rare and/or unattainable sounds. This time around they've laced us with a 4-track EP from the obscure UK band The System (no, not that System). The band, lead by Birmingham musical mastermind Bob Lamb, released only one proper full length - the much sweated and very expensive Logic album from 1983. This EP compiles some of the best moments from said LP and showcases the incredible range and depth of the band. Check the techno funk of "Vampirella," the synth pop goodness of "Almost Grown," or the introspective ambience of "Pendy! You're In Some Awful Danger." Also included is the previously unreleased end-of-the-night-jam "Find It In Your Eyes." Full recommendation.
