  • Everyone's favorite nihilist is back and this time around it's his official major label debut. The Weekend has made a name for himself with his trademark falsetto vocals over epic future R&B beats. For Kiss Land he takes the listener outside of his usual confines of his native Toronto and the studio where he honed his craft. As he's blown up and started playing spots like New York's Radio City Music Hall and Los Angeles' Greek Theatre, he's had the opportunity to tour the world. His travels are reflected in his lyrics as are his triumphs. On a side note I'm not gonna front, while the production is impressive and his voice like a cherub, his lyrics are a little too vapid for my taste. As long as he keeps the production chops up and gets more guest like Drake, hopefully he can get over himself at least a little bit. Limited edition 180 gram double vinyl pressing housed in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves.
