The album that includes "Cast Your Fate to the Wind," a world-wide standard. Originally released in 1962, Jazz Impressions Of Black Orpheus is inspired by Antonio Carlos Jobim's 1959 soundtrack, and it is one of Vince Guaraldi's earliest outings as a composer. The bossa nova influence runs throughout; 4 songs adapted from the aforementioned soundtrack are styled as the then popular style, and further, the characteristics that will later define his television work—jollyness, glossy chords, upper register trills, etc.—take form on the 8 tracker. Check out "Alma-Ville," "Moon River," and of course, " Cast Your Fate To The Wind."
