  • Anonymity is a hard thing to hold on to. It's especially difficult in this day and age when the internet is immediately set abuzz by the music of an artist like Zomby. That the producer has managed to keep himself out of the spotlight over the course of three albums is no mean feat. Since his debut, Zomby has turned more than a few heads with his music. Perhaps that is due to the amorphous quality of the tracks that he produces, never lingering too long on one thought. Throughout his career he's demonstrated a respect for dance music of the past, especially that of the 90s. With Love traverses through that decades genres with ease while at the same time updating the sound pallet and throwing in knowing winks to the future. He takes bites out of rave, jungle, house, techno, and grime and treats them to walks through club lands that have yet to be fathomed by us mere mortals. Jungle is given an extra injection of sub-bass, while house and techno get married in Vegas. With the album's 33 tracks may seem hard to digest on first blush they flow remarkably well together. You're never pummeled too long before being allowed to come up for air. It's remarkable to see an artist like Zomby stay as consistent as he has, even with the sheer amount of new material on offer.
