  • With most of these seminal brit-pop albums of late eighties / early nineties, I listen to them today and nearly gag at the sound of the pompous front man with brit accent. However, the Stone Roses remain above it all despite their annoying accent... timeless and classic (proof: Man U plays "This Is The One" before every home game). Maybe it's cause these guys could really play their instruments, or that the drummer wore a floppy hat, or the great modern art covers, or that they jumped ship prematurely, leaving us wanting more. If any band from this time period gains music immortality, I'd bet Stone Roses would at least be in the top 3. Recommended.

    • black vinyl pressing
    • printed inner sleeve
    • original release year: 1989
    • music label: Silvertone Records 2018
