  • As you might have guessed from her last name, Bebel Gilberto hails from a family with deep music heritage. Her father, Joao Gilberto, is credited with pioneering the bossa nova sound, and her mother is Miucha, a renowned Brazilian singer/composer. Originally released in 2000, Tanto Tempo is Bebel's debut album. Produced by Suba, the 11-tracker blends bossa nova with electronic music, and it offers an elevated listening experience accentuated by Bebel's soothing voice. The musical backdrop consists of deftly arranged samples (the electronic part of the album) as well as traditional instruments and percussion, and the soulful and effortless way in which the classic elements mash with updated technology is the focal point of Tanto Tempo. Check out "Samba Da Bencao," "So Nice (Summer Samba)," "Samba E Amor," and the title track.
