Lab Overview

"We sought to create a score that reflects the world of Luke Cage. We see this world as a place where classic cinema meets classic Hip Hop" - Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge. The two producers made good on this promise with the incredible score to Marvel's Luke Cage on Netflix, now available on double vinyl courtesy of Mondo. As part of A Tribe Called Quest, Ali Shaheed Muhammad needs no introduction. Ya'll should already know about Adrian Younge as well, the brilliant multi-instrumentalist/producer/composer behind Something About April, 12 Reasons To Die with Ghostface, and Black Dynamite. Together, these two hip-hop powerhouses bring the Harlem world of Luke Cage to life with gritty soul and cinematic beats that certainly stand on their own. This pressing features the score to the first season on double vinyl with gatefold sleeve, printed insert, obi strip and original artwork by Matthew Woodson.  Recommended.
